Free, but not.

So it’s taken me a while to come to this decision, but starting tonight at midnight, all of the material on the Blush Response site will cease to be free.  The reason for this being that, simply, this project needs more funding.  I hope you can all understand, and thanks for enjoying what I have given out.

FRUSTRATION

So as you may or may not know by now, I’ve been hard at work on the debut album for Blush Response for about a year now.  The album is called WE ARE REPLICANTS. As of a few days ago, the album is officially finished, and I’ve made a few copies available for a few close friends and interested parties.  The biggest issue here is where to go next.  The most important thing for me right now is getting this music out to all of you, but I’m not sure where to take it.

The impatient person in me says leak it all fucking TODAY and spread it like wildfire, but I know that wouldn’t be the right move.  Releasing this album online for free with the rest of the background noise would just make me more background noise.  I’m not sure where to go next with this, but I know I want it to be done right, and most of all, I want the best quality release possible, I want to make it worth your time to listen to, and worth the year I’ve put into this.

It is getting harder and harder everyday to keep this from everyone because I want to show the fucking world what I have done.  I want to shout from the hills “I HAVE DONE IT! I HAVE CREATED SOMETHING WHOLLY MY OWN AND IT IS HERE AND I WANT TO SHOW IT TO YOU!”  I have never done anything like this before.  This album was about proving that I could do something, so here I am, having done something, and I’m not sure where that puts me next.  This is a time of uncertainty for me, but I know it will all turn out for the best.  The album will receive a proper release soon, and then you will all be able to hopefully enjoy it.  It’s hard to be patient.

With all that said, work has already begun on developing concepts (both lyrical and musical) for the second album as well.  I’m going to try to make it as different from the first as possible (that should keep you guessing seeing as you haven’t even heard the first yet ;).) Raising the bar, setting ambitions higher, I want to make something much bigger than We Are Replicants.  I have a lot of creative fire in me as of late, so there might be more than just a second album in the works… There are a lot of directions I want to explore musically.  Work will begin on more new songs soon, as well as the second album.
